The Time my Bully destroyed my New Waterbottle

By: Shakti Ann Kanyal (Grade 11)

I have been bullied most of my life. Elementary school was where it was the worst. I remember I would make YouTube videos of the trends at the time like Animal Jam or the James Charles palette, and people would just make fun of my voice, or what I wore in those videos, leaving comments like “Your forehead so big I could eat off it,” etc. But it also transferred to the classroom. I remember one time I saved up for weeks to get the infamous yellow hydroflask, which was in trend at the time. I finally got it and brought that huge thing to school, somehow I forgot it (idk how I did that, the thing was such a bright yellow. It could have led boats back to shore.) Anyways, I did, and the next day it was all smashed up. A girl from my class told me to promise not to tell the bully, but she told me that my bully took my water bottle, I had saved up for, and smashed it all over the table. My 4th grade self was heartbroken and defeated, but yk I tried to paint the dented water bottle and fix it, but let's just say, I'm not an artist, it looked horrible. I did not confront my bully, but I distanced myself, and talked to my really good friends at the time who supported me. That helped, she did continue to bully me, but it felt good to know my two close friends supported me, and that I didn’t have to be around her all the time. Also, I listened to a lot of music and took my dog on walks, to take my mind off it.
